*chirp*

Over the past week or so, we've been finding more and more crickets in our house.

The Wife and I didn't think too much of it at first - the weather has been getting cooler and they're probably just looking to stay warm at night.

But we came home tonight to find several dozen hopping around our living room.

I can handle a few crickets. Really. They're not a problem. But when there are this many, it's a little creepy. Maybe more than a little.

There were enough that we definitely had to use a broom to sweep them out of our front door.

Guess who's calling the bug guy tomorrow?

Ugh. I'm creeped out just reading that. Mah! I think I would have put in an emergency call to the bug guy, or at the very least, I would have sprayed the fuckers with anything I had -- even oven cleaner.

They don't bite, and in many cultures they bring good luck. I'm all for getting 'em out of your space, but I know why you waited.

Have I mentioned that I'm really enjoying the lack of biting insects in the UK? So many if Florida want to kill me...

Fie! - We did just that. Well, calling the bug guy, at least. They're not so bad individually, but in large numbers they are decidedly creepy.

Unicorn - I can't decide if you actually have crickets, or just silent students. I also can't decide which are more problematic...

Procris - Oh, I do so love the UK. If only I were galavanting about with you there. And not here. With the crickets.
