Ka-BOOM!

Writing a dissertation isn't usually a whole lot of fun.

But right now, as I sit by my window watching the rain and lightning with my laptop and a cup of coffee, I can't really complain.

Make sure you save your document frequently so it doesn't get zapped if you have a power surge in the storm (if your laptop is plugged in, that is). (Or is this just me being superstitious?)

But yeah, storms are awesome to watch. I love that.

The rain (and snow) doesn't actually fall here. It swirls in every direction like a Van Gogh painting, 100 mph, then lands on the sides of everything and rolls off. Not much gazing out the window - more like getting the hell away from the windows during storms! But I like the peacefulness at night, with not even a mouse stirring. Great writing time.

I like when I'm sitting and writing the dissertation. It's productive and encouraging. What I don't like is stressing about how the hell I'm going to do all of the frickin' reading that I have to do before I can write. You go!

Fie - Done and done!

Unicorn - Swirly rain? That sounds... ominous.

GEW - I'm not thinking about all the reading that must be done for the next chapter. Not at all. Just writing now. Just writing.
