I just submitted (submat? Shouldn't that be more proper?) my second chapter. As in, less than ten minutes ago.
It feels wonderful. Then again, that might be the "victory shot" of vanilla vodka I'm sipping. No mind.
As a reward, I've given myself the weekend off! We're going to see the final installation of Harry Potter tonight (after which I will try not to weep like a child), we've got tasty, tasty brunch planned with friends tomorrow followed by a truly dorky session of role playing on Sunday.
It will be luxuriant and delightful. Until Monday, whereupon I start prepping for chapter three.
(Really? "Whereupon," Harker? Clearly you've been spending too much time with your dissertation.)

Congratulations on finishing chapter 2! I say enjoy yourself. I'd love to hear your opinion viewing the final battle.
I think we all have this problem with certain words though. I sometimes find myself with an overwhelming need to change the vowels in the forms of blind. Instead of blinded, I have this overwhelming urge to say "blound."

Hubby and I went to the midnight showing of 2HP7. There were several times I cried, but not at the very end. I hate that goddamn epilogue.

Tamayn - As per the final battle... Hm. I think it's been almost five years since I read the Deathly Hallows, so I don't remember a lot of specifics other than that most of the second half of the book was an extended fight scene. That said, I thought the movie did a good job getting across the 'epic battle' sensation, even if there were times I caught myself thinking, "Wait a second... Did that actually happen in the book?!" Overall, I quite enjoyed it. You?
Angie - Hey, 'thus' is perfectly acceptable and anyone who says otherwise should be beaten.
Fie! - I also hated the epilogue! I mean, trying to age young actors 19 years is one thing, but the whole idea of suddenly shooting foreward in time almost two decades... I don't know. When I first read it, I felt robbed, like I'd been reading along with characters (roughly) within my age range, and all of a sudden they were something else, you know? No longer the people I knew. Maybe that's not the cause for your hatred, though...

Well, I have to admit, it was far less epic than I made out to be in my head. I blame this on growing up playing Japanese RPGs and reading lots of Arthurian legends, Breton Lais, eddas, and epics in college.
I may have missed some of it. I'm always convinced I'm missing something in subtlety when the movie's only in French.
I am impressed by (and envious) of you seemingly methodical progress through your chapters. One, two, then three. I, on the other hand, cartwheel about, back and forth, never knowing just how it is all going to flow. Nicely done. Victory shots all around!
Way to go, Harker! Relax and keep up the hard work. There's nothing wrong with using whereupon or thus in casual conversation. Personally, I'd like to see submit transform into something closer to sub+misi for the English past...maybe submist?
